OWS VIP/OA VI is designed to provide visually impaired operators with access to the Aastra Operator Work Station Interface (previously the Ericsson AB Operator Work Station Interface). OWS VIP/OA VI act as an intermediary between the user and the workstation, a program within a program.
By combining the computer keyboard, a soundcard and/or a Braille display, OWS VIP/OA VI delivers all the information the user needs in Braille and/or speech output. Users input information to the computer via the computer keyboard; in turn, OWS VIP/OA VI interprets the information that appears on the computer screen and converts it into speech and Braille output.
(For information on OWS VIP/OA VI speech and Braille display compatibility, please read the information on the support page.)
OWS VIP/OA VI key commands for manipulating OWS text output and reading or displaying dialog boxes are issued exclusively from a compatible Braille display or from a compatible serial keypad. For accessing the OWS VIP/OA VI help and configuration managers use the computer keyboard for reading or displaying and making adjustments.
OWS VIP/OA VI is fully configurable to best meet the operators requirements and capability, and provide screen reading functionality for work other than operating the phone system.
OWS VIP/OA VI, especially designed and tested for it are the best visually impaired operator programs available to handle the call management of MD110 PBX or telephone traffic on the Aastra (previously Ericsson) operator workstation (Operator workstation for DNA 5 or MX-One).
